Awake yet still dreaming? ?!

Question: Awake yet still dreaming? ?
This is the 4th time I've had this happen in a month. I will wake up from being asleep (I won't remember anything I was dreaming about) and something will be going on in my room. There will be bugs on my pillow, spider webs, writing carved into my walls, and my most recent one where my spinning fan was about to fall down and hit me. These things I see are always unrealistic and scary. They are always something threatening, I've never experienced rainbows or butterflies.

Previous to this month I've had these "hallucinations" happen many times before. I know it wasn't all a dream, because when I thought I saw spiders on my pillow I threw it out my door. Later that day I saw my pillow in the hallway outside my room.

Its like my mind is still asleep but my body is awake. I can move, talk, hear, yet I truly believe I am seeing these things. After about 5 minutes it goes away and I realize how illogical they were and go back to sleep. What is this???

Answers:

As a child, I experienced something similar several times. I would wake up from a sleep( at least I thought I was awake)and find myself looking down at myself or things crawling on the wall or some shadowy figure in the doorway just standing there. I swear these thing were real because I think I was awake. As I was seeing theses things, I noticed that I couldn't move my body. It was so scary. It would happen all the time as a child. Then suddenly it stopped at age 12. But then it starting happening again when I turn 21 while I was in the hospital for surgery. It happened after the surgery, and while I was in the hospital bed. Then I realized something. It only happens when I go to sleep flat on my back. When I stoppen sleeping on my back, I never had one of those scary episodes again.

sounds like Psychosis. i would get it checked out if i were you, go to your GP and he can contact the right people. Or one other thing... 'Ever have that feeling where your not sure if your awake or still dreaming?...Its called Mescaline, it's the only way to fly'
