Is it difficult for an int. student to adjust to life in the U.S if they're!

Question: Is it difficult for an int. student to adjust to life in the U.S if they're not super social?
I've been accepted to a college and I might be soon moving to America.

When I tell people this , they're like "you? you wouldnt even last a minute in America. You need to be assertive and be able to voice your opinions in order to survive in America."

The problem is I have social anxiey and aspergers syndrome, which makes the social part of it hard for me.(I haven't told this to the colleges I've applied to :)

What are the challenges I should make my self ready for? ( Considering my personality disorders and my sheltered background)

Answers:

Use it to your advantage. Instead of being some social frat boy who gets drunk and fails his classes in the first year, you will be studying in the library and get good grades.

So what? We're all different and have our own challenges.

It makes no difference what country you are in. It does matter where you stay though. If you are staying in a dorm, you will have to interact, but usually your roommates will be more understanding.

I was lucky enough to stay in post-grad dorms; see the housing office if they have something like that.
