Do I sound selfish? Because I think i do?!
Question: Do I sound selfish? Because I think i do?
Answers:
NO, you do not sound selfish. many of us get "stuck" taking care of family members that others can't or won't help with. It sounds like you need some space, but being 15 you're expected to pitch in and help. It is not an unusual situation. Lots of families go through this, but it is what some families do. Family takes care of family. Some day you may need help, and you will appreciate it more, because you know what the care givers are going through. I took care of my father for years who has Alzheimer's, was bipolar, etc. He was a handful, but I took care of him, because my sisters could not. I did not like it, but figured I was building good Karma. :o) It will not always be like this. Think of all the stress your mother is under, too, beacsue she is doing a good thing taking these people in and watching out for them. It is just the way it is sometimes. I bet your mother is secretly wishing for peace and quiet and some alone time. It does not sound like she gets any of that, so you need to help when she asks. Really sit down and think how she feels about all this, and maybe you will see why she is doing this for her family. She may feel the same way you do.
Good luck!

No. Not selfish at all (sarcastic)
It is selfish, but I understand your need for space. I never liked living with my family either, my grandma invited all of her 8 siblings over everyday for hours and when my mom moved in things got a million times worse, but there was nothing I could do but stick it out until I was eighteen. I high tailed my cute little *** out of that house as soon as my birthday hit and have been living on my own ever since. You're just going to have to deal with it until you're eighteen. Realize that it is your parents house and they can let anyone they want live there and they make the rules, you have no rights to the house or what's done with it; it sucks but that's the way it is. I'm sorry you're having trouble, good luck.
