Too Damn Obsessional?!

Question: Too Damn Obsessional?
I'm not sure if this is exactly out of the ordinary but does anybody
get obsessional with certain things, forget about them then get obsessional
with something self. Then this cycle just repeats itself over and over.

For example, got into keyboards, wouldn't stop looking at keyboards for weeks
and forgot about
everything else.
Now, I'm obsessional with games and just look at games all day and barely
even think about keyboards or (once again) anything else.

Is this a personality flaw of some kind?

I have an anxiety disorder, maybe this is tied in somewhere with it?

Answers:

The obvious answer is this SOUNDS like (I need more info though) OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). You can google it. There's zillions of info on it. Bottom line: YES, it's VERY COMMONLY intertwined with anxiety disorders.

The classic examples are people who wash their hands like 40 times a day, or people who turn off and go back every second to make sure it's off, or people who are ultra clean freaks where they don't want to touch a doorknob so use a kleenex or gloves. Ther's a thousand other examples. But the GOOD NEWS is that it's VERY TREATABLE. There are some GREAT meds out there for OCD. You just have to see your doctor or ask your mom or dad to take you to an internist if you're already sort of past the pediatric stuff. Thanks and good luck!

I am totally the same! I have major depression but I have ALWAYS been obsessive I have to "own" people I have to have everything to do with merchandise of whatever I'm obsessed with e.g. it was Dr Who at one point.

I suppose it could be OCD, ask a doctor just to get it seen to but it could just as easily be something to do with your AD :]

Good luck ?
