scared to look at the sky/look down from a high place? can't be in public? !

Question: Scared to look at the sky/look down from a high place? can't be in public? scared?
I don't know if you're read my other questions but I have every single symptom of depersonalization and derelization and have been experiencing it EVERY SINGLE DAY for three years with parents who don't care.

To add to this, for the last few years, I've had the scariest, weirdest, most embarrassing experience. I'm scared to be outside. I can't look at the sky. I get dizzy and scared. I FLIP OUT! I have the worse panic attack and feel like I'm being taken away. I have an INDREDIBLE fear of heights to the point where I FLIP out from looking at a ceiling. And I feel really trapped in open spaces. And I'm scared of crowds too. It's making me not want to go to school even. I live like 2 minutes away from my school and find it really hard to walk home because I get really dizzy outside. Or at public. I only feel safe at home.

I don' know what this possibly could be but it's affecting me a LOT. I can't even go outside! For science we go outside a lot and I freak out. If I told people, they'd laugh. I told some of my good friends and they're like "uuuuuh yeah, you're really being crazy."

Answers:

I guess you're having panic disorder. Most people with this anxiety disorder is agoraphobic (someone who is afraid in open places), is not in a relationship, or at school or taking up college experiencing a lot of stressors. For your case, I think you're agoraphobic, and you handle a lot of pressure at school including those who laugh at you whenever you try to open things up. The flipping out feelings you just mentioned explains that those were the times panic attacks occur.

Anxiety disorder occurs when a person is anxious over something, and you said you hate being with people. It's very obvious that you are UNCONSCIOUSLY anxious about what others will say to you upon seeing you in the open and these leads to panic attacks.

My advice is whenever panic attacks occur, you just have to SET YOUR MIND THAT YOU'LL BE FINE in the open and do deep breathing exercises. You do that by inhaling SLOWLY and exhaling SLOWLY. That helps for the attack to stop. Then SET YOUR MIND THAT YOU"LL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER ATTACK CALMLY. Do not think of what other people will say because truth is, they really don'r care what you're going to do except if you're a celebrity.

Then tell your parents about your problem, they'll probably care. There are no parents who doesn't care for their children, because if they don't then how come you're being sent to school and being provided with all your needs and some of your wants. Or if you can't tell your parents, try telling a friend, but you just said that your friends just laugh at you when you try to open up. (Don't think that your friend doesn't care about you, it's just that they are not aware how you really feel about these situations).

Or you can try talking to a professional (nurse, doctor). They are the ones who 100% understand your situation.

You said that these panic attacks occurs for the past 3 yrs, well, Panic Disorder is diagnosed if panic attacks are recurrent for almost (1) ONE MONTH w/c means that you are really having that mental disorder. You should see a doctor, there are medications prescribed to treat your disorder, and please, DO NOT SELF MEDICATE because these drugs cause very harmful effects if used w/o doctor's consent which may only worsen your condition.

If you got questions, message me :) That would be my answer.. Hope it helped. God bless you.

It sounds like you have agoraphobia and also the fear of heights (I don't know the name, but you could look it up if you want to). The general prescription for fears is to gradually expose yourself to exactly what you fear. It's best to do this in small, relatively frequent steps. By doing this, you will eventually realize that your fear is unsubstantiated.
