Why do i always remember bad things and not good things?!

Question: Why do i always remember bad things and not good things?
Since age 16, I've had more bad times than good times. I am now 40 and is trying to turn things around which can be rather disheartening. At times I felt like what's the point? Whenever I'm at a gathering, I try to remember good things to talk about but I can't. I can only remember bad things and bad news. I've only 7 guys and they all been bad to me and as a result of that, i have been single for over 4years and keep get rejected by men. I don't know why and I basically gave up on men.

I know it's affecting me , I don't want to die remembering bad things so why can;t i remember good things?

It is a very wonderful thing to turn you life around. You should keep guiding yourself to positive things and not negative. Be a leader for change. Just don't push it in people's face.

It's all a matter of perception. When you're in a bad mood, negative thoughts are more likely to occur. Usually, people remember traumatic events more clearly because the amount of emotion that was paired with it. How we felt at the time has a strong influence over its place in our memory. Maybe your positive and happy moments were not accompanied by a strong enough emotion for you to remember it? I'm sorry if your adolescent and young adult life were not the best but it's not too late to turn it around. Start trying to make new memories or plan to do things that you want. And by your negative mindset (how you think you can't get a man), it's probably attracting the negative memory.
