How can I differentiate between Depression and ADHD in a teenage girl?!

Question: How can I differentiate between Depression and ADHD in a teenage girl?
Parents, teachers, and friends have recently suggested that I see a therapist recently. I'm having some trouble finding one so in the meantime I've been researching independently. I've come up with two pet theories for myself: depression and ADHD.
I plan on consulting a professional but I'm dying here. I don't know how to tell which one it is (if not a combination or neither). Is there anything definitive? A book I looked at said that they share many of the same symptoms and it can be hard, even for mental health professionals to diagnose it correctly.
Do you know any information on how to distinguish them? (I'm 16 btw)

Pretty sure that Depression and ADHD are exact opposite. Depression slows the person down and makes them moody, ADHD makes them hyper and unable to pay attention.
