Question:
Do i get schizophrenia when i get high?
Ok, i am a normal person and i have no mental problems what so ever. i been smoking weed for a while now. i was having no trouble when i used to smoke weed all the time. i mean all the time for months in a row. but one day i don't remember when i started to freak out a lot when i smoke weed and i mean i feel every body was hating me for something and i was the jock of the group. but this happens when i get ****** up and i used to get ****** up a lot and nothing would happen to me. so i looked up online on some people that went through what i went. i found some but they were having a lot of things that i did not have. after i am not high any more every thing comes back to normal. i know some people might say just quit weed which i did but i want to know why is it happening to me when i get high. and some times actually only a few times since i started to freak out that i had a good high. so i decided to quit smoking.
Answers:
Schizophrenia does not come and go like that.
I have schizophrenia.
It's impossible for us to diagnose this over the internet; feelings of paranoia are a pretty common side-effect of marijuana use, but it isn't unheard of for it to trigger latent symptoms of schizophrenia. If you want to know for sure, consult a doctor; either way, it sounds like you're a person that should avoid marijuana use.
Definitely NOT schizophrenia. Maybe you smoked a little too much that day and were experiencing a mild case of paranoia, a common side affect of smoking.
