I seem to stay awake every night for no real apparent reason?!

Question: I seem to stay awake every night for no real apparent reason?
I don't know why but now at least once a week sometimes two i'll stay awake throughout the whole night even though i know i have uni the next day, for example i have an oral exam today but still didn't go to sleep, I don't know why i do it because it's not like i do anything productive in it's place, tonight/today i did some work for the oral and ended up on this quiz site (quizlet.com if you're wondering) testing myself on capitals and countries of the world and loads of other stuff. Most of the time it's because i'll watch a tv series. See it's fairly pointless stuff but i still can't seem to stop myself doing it. I don't think it's a mental problem or there are underlying issues as to why i'm not going to sleep but just some general thoughts on what it could be is what i'm looking for. Also how bad is it really to stay awake for 30 hours or so at a time?

I know most will say just go to sleep, but what i'm saying is that i seem incapable of forcing myself to get into bed and sleep, i seem to want to distract myself from sleep and do other things

I've been an insomniac almost my entire life and it shouldn't hurt you to stay up for 30 hours. My record is 5 days without any sleep and I felt fine. As a college student, you are most likely finding yourself with an uncomfortably low amount of leisure time so staying up all night could be the way you are handling it. The hours that were meant for sleep are being replaced by your leisure time.

whats your usual diet - knock off the coffee if any
next , just tire yourself out 1-2 hrs before sleep.
followed by a filling meal.
and sleep will come on

Masturbation helps sleeping. :)

Hm special case indeed I have dealt with a worse case a paitient would stay ip everyday to 6am then sleep till 2pm
