Alarm(s) dont wake me up anymore..help!?!

Question: Alarm(s) dont wake me up anymore..help!?
Im a freshman in college now, and ive noticed that compared to last year, my body is more prone to sleeping. Also because for the first semester i had easy classes so i had time to sleep. However now im noticing that even if i give myself a generous 7 or 8 hours of sleep i either oversleep to the alarm noise or i press the snooze button for an hour. This is really becoming a problem because i already have a few absenses for my morning classes. I tried changing the ringtone, and even using two cellphones, but the results haven't changed that much. I also dont understand why this is happening; last year i went to a really tough high school which gave me tons of work, and i only had like 4/5 hours to sleep a day. Yet, I was able to wake up quickly and carry on with my day productively, i was like a machine! I dont know if this has anything to do with sleep but i was happier last year; I had more friends and a few girlfriends.. now i haven't dated a girl in almost a year because the ones at university are so rich and snobby and dont have as many friends.. this has been kinda depressing and i was thinking it could maybe influence my sleeping patterns or something. what do you think?

Answers:

i have the same problem! What i normally do is have 3 alarm clocks. One is my phone and the other 2 are standard alarm clocks. I put one alarm clock on my night stand. the other on my dresser (or since your in a dorm your probably up against a wall. So under your bed should work fine too) and my phone under my pillow. Then i turn them way up and set them for the same time. This always works for me. Hope it works for you.

They have those super loud alarms that dont turn off until you get up and shut them off. That's what I use, and I have a second alarm that goes off 5 minutes after that one! Nobody could sleep through these things!

Please keep few meters away alarms instrument from yourself, then you could wake up and ypu have to walk to turn OFF, then you will wake up

tape the speaker o the cellphone next to your ear
if that doesn't wake you up, have some of your friends wake you up with a bucket of water

This is just a hunch based on your username, but are you drinking more than you used to at home? If you're lonely and a little bit down, you tend to drink more, and freshman year is notorious for alcohol related depravity anyway (hey, we've all done it).

I'm NOT saying you've got a problem, but even a couple of drinks the night before does you no favours when you're trying to get up the next morning.

Otherwise, an old fashioned alarm clock in a cookie tin is the way forward.

Good luck!

Well you definitely need sleep, but maybe you could try a better alarm clock? One that doesn't have a snooze button.Or you could try clocky, this clock that after you hit the snooze button,it rolls of your desk and hide somewhere in your room,so you have to find it,pick it up and turn it off. Then you will already be up! I would really want one if I went to school (I'm home schooled).
Here's the link to a site that sells them:
