Do I still have an eating disorder?!

Question: Do I still have an eating disorder?
I'm in my 20s now and in my teens, I struggled with both anorexia and bulemia. There was a time in which I was extreme about everything I hate to the point that I barely ate. When I did start to eat, I gained weight (I didn't weight 90 anymore) so I started purging. It got bad for a while but I recovered and did it less and less. Now, I probably purge on average once a week. Sometimes less, sometimes twice or three times. I don't see this being a big deal. Its just something I need to do if i eat too much. Could this hurt me? Is this really that unhealthy?

Answers:

If you're still purging, and have days when you think you're 'eating too much' and need to compensate, yes, you still have an eating disorder.

And it does, it'll damage your stomach, esophagus(and your digestive system, because you're reversing the peristaltic movement on a regular basis, so you'll damage your ability to swallow), mouth, and teeth(especially your teeth, and gums will take massive damage because of the acid), and raises your risk of cancer of any of these areas, because stomach-acid, is very toxic outside of the stomach.

So yes, it is really unhealthy.

I'm certain that you realize that your behavior is not normal or healthy. Yes you definitely have issues that point to an eating disorder. I'm not sure what you did in the past but hopefully you will get some professional counseling.

Anything like this is unhealthy. Food is a required item for life, if you deprive yourself at all, it is bad for your body. Its not super unhealthy, just not a good habit.

yes you do, yes it can hurt you and yes it really is that unhealthy, seek help :)

You would better have an eating regular,so it can do some good for you .

Yes. seek professional help

The eating disorder is the result of a Brain Chemistry Imbalance!

As we all evolve from child to teen to adult, many changes take place within our bodies and minds, and the most important change that takes place is within our Brain Chemistry, It sometimes has some difficulty in keeping pace with our growth, and can be the source of some Brain Chemistry Imbalance.
Brain chemistry, is designed to keep all things balanced - Our Thoughts, Our Concept of Activities, Our Assessment of Situations.
When our Brain Chemistry becomes unbalanced, we are not able to Temper our Thoughts , Assessments, and Concepts with the appropriate Proportion of Tolerance, - Compassion, - Reason and Wisdom.
Emotions play an important part in the process, as you may have witnessed when people fall in love as well as when they are having to separate, and then there is the emotion of greed that can Also disrupt the designed task of the Brain Chemistry.

The worst emotion to disrupt the Brain Chemistry, is Anger, and even More-so is Unresolved Anger.
Anger can totally disrupt the Brain Chemistry to the point of rendering the Brain Chemistry, unable to perform their designed Task, and all thoughts and resolutions end in the Action of Attack -Attack- Attack..
It is your imbalanced Brain Chemistry making all of these determinations, Not You.
See a doctor and be assessed by a Professional.
You are not qualified, as it can become very serious with dangerous consequences if not addressed properly with appropriate intervention.
You are attempting to self medicate, purging - not purging. Purging is not the problem or the solution.
Don't wait, Do It Now!
Good Luck!
