People on yahoo answers, please hear me out. .....Well here is the event that made me traumatized without realizing it. I was 18 and it was around 8-9PM at night at our local park. I was with 6 other friends at the park smoking weed and mind you that i was perfectly fine before this event. I was outgoing and very social and could get along with anyone i would meet. A man in black approached us and fired a gun in the air and told all of us to get down on the ground. He took mine and my friends belongings.(never got them back). I guess because im asian/short. He came up to as the weakest link and started pointing his gun at the back of my head.

After a few of his shoutings of wanting my stuff, i could barely moved, scared to death. He pistol whipped me on the back of my head with my face facing the floor. and i was left their on the ground with my head throbbing.( could getting pistol whipped on the head lead to long term concussion issues in a year or so?) cops came, got our information, and that was the event. nothing else important went on besides everyone going home.

During that time i had tons of friends. But now i have been isolating myself from people without realizing it. Is something wrong with me? Embarrassing to say, i have been wetting the bed a couple of nights and after that event. for 2-3 weeks i have been feeling as if another event like that would occur to me and im always getting paranoid to look outside my window at night.

I agree with the other person that said you need to seek help with a professional. This is TOO much weight on your shoulders to bear alone. I couldn't even imagine to have gone what you've been through. You need to talk it out with someone that can help you. If you're not comfortable with talking to a therapist, try the school counselor, teachers, or even your mom or dad.

Just remember this: You SURVIVED, and that's all that is important. You are stronger than you know. I admire you for being so smart and doing what needed to be done, in order for you to stay alive. You will get through this. Best wishes to your very long future ahead of you.

You were traumatized dramatically!! You really should seek professional counseling to help with this. No matter what we ( yahoo answers) tell you...it will not help you deal with the trauma you endured during this horrific ordeal. I'm so sorry
:-(

Point you want to open themselves to teamwork, to say the things that your heart out, everyone happy.

PTSD??

personally, I am very sorry that event had happened with you. I advice you to attend party, disco so that you could entertain and may be you could make some new friend. But the most important think is you should believe in yourself and have to accept the nature of life that goes ups and down for numerous time.

that sounds awful! try to seek the help of a professional, or find someone close to you whom you trust, and tell them all about how you feel and what youre afraid of. there is nothing wrong with you at all~ people cope with traumatizing incidents in different ways, and yours is particularly horrifying. does seeing those people you were with terrify you/make you remember how scared you were that night? work on your own mental health before trying to get back with your friends (and maybe find some new friends who dont like to hang out in shady areas).

for the paranoia at night, maybe remember this: was there anyone sneaking at your window before this incident? i think not :) that guy who held a gun up to you was not focused on you, he just wanted your things. he doesnt remember you at all~ he doesnt know where you live, so there's no need to be terrified. even if he did, he'd probably be scared you'd see HIM! and call the cops on HIM! its like that idea that the snake is more afraid of you than you are of him~
