I have an eating disorder but have never lost my period. How do I get treatment?!

Question: I have an eating disorder but have never lost my period. How do I get treatment?
5'7", 97 lbs, BMI of about 15. I have never been officially diagnosed with an eating disorder because I still have my period. I need help. I need to be hospitalized. What do I do? I am 18. been struggling with this for over 5 years.

Answers:

Please go to a hospital immediately.
If you have not already been diagnosed, there has been a serious lapse in the judgement of the professionals.
If all else fails, you can tell them that you have been thinking of taking your life because of your eating problems.
Once in a psych ward, you would go to the eating disorder unit.
It is an ok place that is very helpful.
Good luck.

You may have EDNOS - Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. It means you don't have ALL the criteria for an eating disorder.

See your doctor and then see what happens there. They may hospitalise you and/or refer you to a specialist who will help you.

Congratulations on seeking help. Best of luck.
