Answers:

You need to become a doctor first and then specialize in psychiatrist. There is a psychiatrist opening where i live that pays $227,000 a year. So as you can see you will be in a secure job for life. However you will also have to go to school for the rest of your life and have tests done for the rest of your life because medical science is always growing. Must also note that you will be in charge of numerous patients and anytime one of those patients harms themselves, someone else, or commits suicide and/or murder, you will be brought up for inspection and could be possibly fired and lose your medical licence because of it.

You would have to keep your grade point average very high. You study mostly science, math, and take classes in undergraduate school at a 'pre-med' school, and take the prerequisites for medical school.
You would then hope to be accepted into a medical school, and complete that. You would then take additional specialized schooling and a residency in psychiatry.

Most Psychiatrists make around 220,000$ a year, but it depends on what you do and how you do it.
They also get income when they buy 'medication drugs' at a discount from big pharma, and then
cash in on the rebate the drug companies give .
That income can amount to millions.
That is how they do it. When you hear all the denials about being paid off by big pharma, they deny it and take their rebates . That way they can say they are not getting paid off. There are other ways they get paid , also.

go to college and study psychology and then once you graduate go to grad school and get a degree in clinical psychology

you would need at least a MSW (master in social work) but most psychologists have psyD (a doctorite in psychology) or a phD.

you also got to get trained in the different therapies such as EMDR and other trance work, or DBT and CBT.

The question pertains to psychiatry so training in pure psychology is irrelevant. MSW, PhDs do not apply. You "simply" need to complete a medical degree and then complete a psychiatry speciality. Sure you will come under investigation when incidents occur but unless there is a case for serious neglect then you're not going to be shown the door if someone does manage to take their life.
