I have no clue on what I should do in my life. What do I do?!

Question: I have no clue on what I should do in my life. What do I do?
I really hate life right now but that's mainly because I don't do anything. I don't go to school and I don't have a job. I'm 19 and I wish I could just travel the world but I don't have any money. I feel like I'm so stuck in the same spot all the time.

I wouldn't mind going to college but I have no interest and I know I'll drop out of college again. I feel completely out of place in this world and I often feel suicidal. I really hate this city I live in and wish I could just leave here and this earth. I don't know why I feel this way. I'm just so bored with life. It feels useless to me.

I just feel like I have no purpose and no one is pushing me to pursue anything. My mother is dead and my father has never been in my life (I'm the only child). I know I should be pushing myself and pursue something but deep down inside I don't care if I become a doctor or a lawyer. I don't want to exist honestly.

I always feel bad for feeling this way but I don't care, I mean I do but I don't know what to do I just don't like living right now. I'm never happy.

Answers:

You sound like me. :(
I'm 19. Jobless. Not in school. I don't really want to go to school or work but I'm job searching to make my mom happy and get my family and others off my back for not doing anything. Truthfully, I don't want to do anything. I don't want to "get by" or "get a hobby" or do any of the things people suggest. I can't afford to get psychological help. Everything we do is just a distraction from the inevitable.

It sounds like you are suffering with depression. You should contact the mental health agency in your area and get the help you need so that you feel better about life, yourself. God bless

It sounds like you are battling depression and searching for some meaning in your life. A lot of young people that decide to volunteer for local social service agencies or mentor kids less fortunate find a great deal of meaning and purpose in their lives when they are helping others. Also, often these volunteer opportunities easily turn into jobs. You can call Boys Town hotline anytime day or night to talk to a counselor who can listen and help direct you to some local agencies and programs.
