Anxiety problem returning?!

Question: Anxiety problem returning?
Firstly, I have never had problems with depression or anxiety until last year. I kept everything bad in my past locked up in my head and never really dealt with it until last year when I hit a very low time in my life. It took me about eight months to recover (with medication and some firm talking!)- from it all but I did it and was proud of myself. But a couple of months ago me and my boyfriend were walking home from shopping (something I couldn't do for a VERY long time) five minuets from my house we had to cross a bridge which was where we were attacked by a group of 6 men. It was honestly the most frightening experience of my life and it really broke me. I couldn't return home for a week in fear it would happen again. I went away for a while just to clear my head and I personally felt I had handled it and even though I knew it would take time for me to really get over it, I felt ok. But now I'm starting to notice changes in me, how I was before. I can't be around groups of boys as I just panic. I cant be on my own outside. I can't sleep at night because I feel like someones outside my window trying to get in or someones watching me. I know it sounds pathetic and I need to get a grip but I can't turn these feelings off. I've started to have severe panic attacks again which are pretty scary. I'm having trouble with even sitting on a bus without thinking people are out to get me. I wish I could just forget what happened but feels like it's just getting worse? I don't know whether to go back to my doctor and speak to him about medication again?

Answers:

I personally understand how anxiety attacks can be because i've struggled with them for quite some time now. Fortunately for me, i'm learning to deal on my own. But it sounds like you have it pretty rough. It would be a very good idea for you to go to your Doctor as soon as possible. Talk to him and explain to him exactly what you're feeling.
Take care.

The best advice I can give is to just relax yourself, go for a walk, travel far places, and go for a field trip, You must sometimes leave problems that's crawling into your mind and enjoy for just a little bit, experts say body massage can also lessen anxiety, grab for it.
