ways to keep yourself calm during hallucinations ?!


Question: Ways to keep yourself calm during hallucinations ?
I've been hallucinating a lot today. Shadows witih sharp edges and colors, some people, and a cat a while ago. I know they are not real but they are still there every so often and today has been the worse. I am on medicine already so don't suggest that. I see my doc on the 12. What are some ways to stay calm though while I'm trying to sleep or something and start seeing them again?

All right. You are in your head enough to know that they are faulty perceptions. Your brain is just processing information incorrectly - that is not a scary thing - even if you see something weird or frightening. So this is what I do - I try to not to look over and over again. Just resist the urge to keep checking. Take a deep breath after you are startled and jump that first time. take a few deep breaths until you feel a little calmer. Then I make sure I have taken all of my meds go to bed and watch TV. Nothing scary - either comedy or educational. I always have lights on - but if you don't ,keep a low light on - it helps when you jar awake .
Bear in mind hun, it is all just chemical.,
It is O.K. , everything is all right G.



Think logically, tell yourself they aren't real, stay chill, and get help.
