Question: I stopped Lamictal 15 days ago?
I stopped Lamictal 15 days ago cold turkey, and now I want to get back on them, how long will it take for it to start working, I been taking it for about 8 months.

I dunno if you can just go back to the dose you were on - you might have to taper up again.

If you are having problems, it might be withdrawal and not the original disorder coming back. Lamictal is a poor bipolar medication, if that's what you are taking it for - google lamictal selective publication and read a Dr. Ghaemi's review of ALL the studies GSK did on lamictal, but they published only the very few that made this drug look good for bipolar.

it's a bad idea to cold turkey off lamictal because it can cause seizures. almost any drug that you take long term has to be tapered off. Even going off meds like blood pressure meds cold turkey can dramatically increase problems.



Contact a physician/clinic ie. they can assist you ie. they might need to know why/how you stopped taking the med.<were you having any side-effect problems particularly any 'skin/peeling' type problems?> In regard to getting back on it and for it to start working, that's why it would also be good to see/consult the physician/clinic<particularing the Rxing one>so they can quickly assist.
