Question: Why does someone suddenly develope schizophrenia over vacation?
What if a girl went to go live with relatives for a bit and came back schizophrenic? But they were normal right before they left, never had any problems before and were socially excepted.

Answers:

I don't know the onset of this disease,my mom used to suffer from this and she was diagnose when she was about 24 years old,she was admitted in a mental institution she had a nervous breakdown. Something trigger her. Something happened to this girl that trigger her episode of schizophrenia. Maybe an argument or a disagreement. There had to be warning sign irritability, fast talking, argumentative, Easily upset. This were the sign my mom had. Good luck and godbless you.

Mental health (like physical health) depends on many, many factors. Good nutrition being one of the most important ones because it is critical for both, and inadequate nutrition is an underlying cause of decline in both physical health and mental health. That said, the effects of poor nutrition are cumulative. You may not see signs of deficiency for years, even as your body (and your brain) is failing to get the nutrients needed. So it seems that an illness is a rapid onset, when in fact it is years in the making.

Stress can increase the body's need for certain nutrients, like the B vitamins which deplete rapidly during stressful periods. Many mental illnesses become evident following trauma. Since B vitamiins are absolutely essential to the health of the nervous system (the brain is part of the nervous system), then the rapid depletion of B vitamins due to stress can precipitate the onset of mental health symptoms.

Schizophrenia has been successfully treated with nutritional support. Dr. Abrahm Hoffer (Canadian psychiatrist) has a high cure rate for his nutritional interventions for schizophrenics (especially if nutritional intervention is started early in the disease process). You can research this under the heading 'orthomolecular psychiatry'.

Generally people develop the disease have a psychotic break, they go from perfectly normal to being psychotic quite quickly. It could very well be a complete coincidence that it occurs on vacation.
