Why does cursing make you feel better?!

Question: Why does cursing make you feel better?
I notice when I'm stressed i curse a lot and when I curse I sort of feel better. whats the biological reason for why it makes a person feel better?

Answers:

The prefrontal cortex is responsible for impulse control. In people with ADHD and bipolar disorder, for example, their PFC's are less dense than healthy normals.

When we curse, the PFC is temporarily deactivated. In response, the dopaminergic circuits in the striatum and the limbic system are activated; this causes a feeling of pleasure. The release of dopamine, through another neurobilogical cascade, causes the release of serotonin. The serotonin, in turn causes the release of endorphins, enkaphilins, and oxytocin.

Serotonin acting at the 5-ht1a receptors, along with oxytocin reduce feelings of anxiety. Endorphins and enkaphilins decrease the sensation of pain, and cause the release of more dopamine which also increases feelings of reward and pleasure.

Who knew cursing was so complicated!?
