Do i need to keep my cut bandaged and should i mention that i cut again to my ps!

Question: Do i need to keep my cut bandaged and should i mention that i cut again to my psychiatrist and therapist?
im really struggling as of recently and i cut my thumb to test if a knife was sharp enough (most knives in the kitchen are so dull, almost like a butter knife) and was gonna cut more but my little brothers friend came over so i gave him the knife. now i dont want the cut to get infected, but i also dont want to make it obvious that i cut again (my mom yelled at me the last time she knew i cut) and its such a minor cut that it should be healed and unnoticeable by the time my next psych appoint is (which is in about a week)

Answers:

Whether it was an accident or not tell him. They need to be monitering your thoughts. Even accidently cutting yourself could be big information for them. It could portray how your thoughts are working, medications, and other info. Now I know you say you were testing how sharp it is but that could portray to your thoughts not functioning right or if you have a condition, the symptoms getting worse. Don't worry they wont strap you down to the chair or have you sent to a hospital. I know the feeling because I've done it myself. The absence of fear is a symptom of a few problems and can become dangerous. Good luck.
