Am I Depressed .. PLEASE HELP ME?!


Question: Am I Depressed .. PLEASE HELP ME?
I hate school nobody likes me they all treat me like im a piece of **** and i spend most of my time in the bathrooms and i failing every subject and even the teachers hate me and they all try to make me out to be stupid all of the time
And them at home things just keep getting worse my brother abuses me day in and day out and nobody care and when ever i say anything to him to try and get him to leave me along my parents give out to me and make out that everything is my fault
The slights thing that happens i just want to start crying my heart out and i just feel like there's no point in even living anymore
It's like one minute everythings ok and they next my whole world is falling apart
btw i've felt like this for a long time

Answers:

First step you need to do the hardest part and go and visit a doctor (asap) it's nothing to be embarrassed about, depression is like THE most common mental illness. They will be able to give you medication and therapy to help you.

Find a support group - hopefully this will help you not feel so alone as you will be surrounded by people who are in the same boat as you, they're really good and you will be able to talk through your problems and emotions with people who completely understand and sympathise.

Read some self help books, I don't know any off hand but if you google it or amazon it it'll come up with the most highly rated one for you to read.

Take up a sport: exercise is well known to help boost serotonin levels and not only that but it will help you feel good about yourself.

Eat healthily & drink lots of water: This will give your body all the nutrients it needs to stay happy and you'll feel better for it.

Keep a diary: you can vent your frustration through the diary and you will feel like someone is listening and in effect they are because you could always show it to the doctor or someone. Plus you could then establish if your mood flows in any sort of pattern, this will help the doctor diagnose you.

Ring support line, like Samaritans and so on (I don't know any off hand but if you google them there will be loads! Samaritans also offer an email help service :)

Whenever you feel sad listen to happy, uplifting music like:

- The Avett Brothers (best album is "I & Love & You")
- Anything by the Beatles <3

Equally watch some comedy like Only Fools & Horses, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder etc :]

If you see in the other questions in this topic there are a lot of others in the same state.
It's called puberty.
Read some articles about it and try to understand the hell-period you are going through. It will make it easier. Your hormoms are in a mess and you can't do much about it.
But it will wear off in a while.
Talk to others and dont let your thoughts ruin you along with all the ******* that are bugging you.

sounds like you need to see a Dr or a counsellor quite quickly.No one should feel the way you sound.try ringing the Samaritans the phone no is in the phone book.hope this helps and that you soon feel better



I know just how you feel!! I used to be just like that. I would recommend seeing the school counselor, and taking each day as it comes, try not to let little things like how a certain person may treat you that day at school let you down. Try and find the people that have been nice to you and make the effort to talk to them and joke with them. Just try and be really calm with your family- if your brother says something just say ok, and move to another room if he is annoying you. If he goes into your room or it is getting to much, calmly go downstairs and say to your parents in a vey composed casual way; mom/dad please tell so and so to stop (whatever he is doing) please". If they don't do anything, just don't react to your brothers abuse, then he will get bored and walk away, even if it takes a while. I hope this helped :) good luck
