Don't you find that there are alot of young people...?!

Question: Don't you find that there are alot of young people...?
Young people. Below the age of 18 complaining about depression on here? You know when they state they are 13?
Don't get me wrong, I am aware that you can suffer from clinical depression throughout your teenage years, I suffered my self and still am. But don't you find it quite annoying sometimes when people confuse being sad and depression. There two completely different things, Just because your 'depressed' over a boy that you fell in 'love' with and there not with you anymore. I just find that on here there are alot of Young folk stating how depressed they are when in fact it just sounds like there abit down. It does get on my nerves quite abit, There is a major difference between being depressed and feeling abit down.
Your thoughts?
Also alot of them mention stuff that doesn't really relate to there mental health like one I just read "I swore at my teacher out of anger."

Answers:

I agree completely, I realise that different people have different emotional pain thresholds and that teens can be especially sensitive...But for any kid who has been imprisoned by depression growing up, it's down right insulting.

Other people want comforting for minute problems i.e. "I swore at my teacher" "My best friend isn't speaking to me" well, try spending the so called best years of you life wanting to die almost all the time (not just when things don't go your way), hating yourself, trusting no one and crying yourself to sleep.

When I was Secondary school there was a girl in my tutor group who I'd known since I was about 7, but had never been close with. We were friends, but I didn't like her much. She was very self centred and manipulative, her parents had spoilt her all her life. Anyway, when we were about 13 she seen my cuts, I guess she added two and two together. She also mentioned it to another girl, the one person I had confided in. She feigned concern and found out as much as possible, she didn't act on it until the two of us had a small fall out. To "teach me a lesson" she told everyone that I had said I was going to kill myself and that I cut myself. I sat there alone, while they all stood in front of me laughing and joking about it. She then told my teacher (feigned concern again) my parents found out and I got sent to a psychologist. My parents also hid all razors and pills from me, it was humiliating and made me, if anything worst.

ANYWAY after all this girl did, a year or so later she was a bit "down" because people started hating her as she was a complete *****. One day, she came in with some tablets and told me and my friend they were antidepressants. I glanced at the label it read "amoxicillin". Yeah, I guess she must have got the "depression bug", they must use antibiotics for depression these days.

Perfect example of how shallow idiots insult those in pain by arrogantly thinking they can relate to living in your own hell.

Yes there are, but for many of them, they don't realize the difference between being sad and 'blue' and having the disorder of depression.

25 yrs psychiatric healthcare

Yea seems like my generation is overly dramatic
i say grab some straws and suck it up, it could be much worse

oh god yes that pisses me off so bad, As someone who actually has clinically diagnosed depression for years i hate it when everyone thinks they have it.
I ESPECIALLY hate it when they do it for attention, The only people who know that i have it is my best friend and my girl and IT ANNOYS ME SO MUCH there is this guy at school i know, he is kinda my friend right, and he will come talk to me about his 'problems' and i give him advice and then he is like 'ohh, it's not that easy you know, i like , have depression you know' And i'm just thinking to myself BULLSHIT. GOD these people need to get a life. It isnt something you want to have and isnt something you go bragging about!!!!
