I'm getting my psych med's changed and need some advice?!

Question: I'm getting my psych med's changed and need some advice?
Tomorrow I will be seeing my psychiatrist for a change in medication. I have been on many medications in the past 17 years. I am currently taking Seroquel 200mg, Celexa 20mg, Depakote 500mg, and am also on Klonopin 2mg PRN (meaning I only take it when I need it for anxiety and panic attacks). I have been on Seroquel and Celexa for about 5 years now and they have seemed to stop working as my moods have been up and down as bad as they were before I was on medication. I have Bipolar Disorder type I and panic disorder. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the following medications: Effexor, Tegretol, Neurontin and Risperidon.
I have never taken any of these before and i was wondering how they helped or did not help you and why. Please feel free to get descriptive. I have done research on the meds but, I want to know how real people have felt on these meds. Also feel free to share with me what meds you are on and how that is working out for you or what combination of medication worked best for you. I'd especially like to here from those of you who suffer from Bipolar Disorder but anyone feel free. I need all the advice i can get. Thanks =-)

Answers:

Stay away from anti-psychotics, and especially avoid Effexor. I've taken that and Neurontin and Zyprexa, and all of them were useless, made me extremely sleepy, and were highly addictive. No one even knows what these drugs are doing to our brains; the tests are all done by the companies that make them and independent results are inconclusive. SSRIs aren't any better and I blame them for my ongoing sleeping disorders (clenching my jaw causing me to require two root canals and crowns as of now, and rubbing my eyes inexplicably, while asleep, years after I stopped taking Zoloft, Prozac and Wellbutrin) which I never experienced prior to taking them. Look up any of those drugs and read long and hard before you take them. Some are reported to cause organ damage and for most of these new drugs the long term side effects are unknown; You're the guinea pig!
