Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) help?!

Question: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) help?
Okay so ever since like 2 years ago is when I started getting just EXTREMELY germaphobic, which I thought was just cause I hated being sick, but like a year ago or before I started getting really annoyed by the way things were placed and I had to move everything around in order to be okay with things. Which was annoying, but okay. Recently, EVERYTHING I look at needs to be rearranged. I can't walk right because I have to step in certain spots and if I don't I have to go back and walk again. I can't shut a door or turn off a light switch if it doesn't seem right.. I really need help but my mom like never listens to anything I say and I've been trying to tell her but she never realizes it.

Answers:

try to explain to your mother that the phobias and anxiety that you experience is preventing your daily function. In other words, try to make her understand that these things overcome your rational judgement and cause you to perform weird tasks or rituals. All in all, get a therapist because that may help you identify what triggered this OCD to happen in the first place, or what triggers it on the daily. I'm not an expert this is only my opinion

Sounds like OCD to me. You should talk to a counselor at your skool if your parents won't listen.

I have OCD
