How can someone know if they were sexually abused as a kid?!
Question: How can someone know if they were sexually abused as a kid?
Answers:
Despite what the other two people said, it is very common for people to be sexually abused as children and not remember it. That happens because the abuse is so traumatic that the brain deals with it by forgetting it. Acting as if it never happened. And that's how it is until they remember. They only start to remember it when they get to a point in their life where they are emotionally capable of dealing with it, despite how hard it may be. I would say that she should read up on repressed memory relating to sexual abuse, and see if it sparks anything for her. If it does, or she starts to think she remembers other things, she should maybe go to therapy. Therapists have different exercises they do that can help uncover those memories. She could also ask her parents, depending on what their relationship is like. Just ask if there was anyone who COULD have done that.
Usually a kid would remember being sexually abused. Just because a kid has sexual knowledge doesn't necessarily mean it's firsthand knowledge. They could've picked it up from TV, overheard an adult conversation, etc.
Does she remember having a penis inserted into her body?
