Is my life over at 19?!

Question: Is my life over at 19?
In February of this year, I totalled my car. Before then I had a job, was driving to college classes out of state, and looked completely different. Since then, I never leave the house. Because I didn't have a car, I couldn't drive to my job or classes. Im 19 years old and live with my mom. She is constantly working and can't exactly help me out car wise or financially. Because I wasn't getting out of the house, I became very depressed and began eating like a pig. I gained 10 lbs along with a few pimples due to the junk food and sudden intake in calories.I'm so depressed about my appearance and the way my life is headed, I don't even get out of the house. I know, I know, I'm being melodramatic. I just don't know what else to do. I feel as if my life is over before it even began. Can someone help? Please,

You've done it before, so you're going to do it again. You will have that car and you will be working and have independence, it takes dedication and time.

You eat because you are bored. The food is filling a gap where other things should be. Hobbies, friends, new friends, exercise, volunteering.

Maybe you have little self confidence and just need to brighten your days a bit more with pampering sessions, a work-out DVD or a nice daily walk. This shall get you out of the house and will start to make you feel more positive and motivated.

You are only 19, just think so many 20 year olds are still spending days and nights playing computer games unaware that you need to make things happen.

Go get yourself a goal, get back on your feet and when you feel rested and confident, get yourself back into education or into employment. Once you have a routine that is heading into a positive direction you will feel much happier.

I'm sorry that you feel like this at the moment. This will pass and everything is going to be great.

I wish nothing but the best for you. Remember only you can live your life, so live it well and make the most of everything. Remember to have fun and be happy. You can get your appearance back on track, but my view is that because you feel sad inside then you are probably thinking that you look bad on the outside. I'm sure you don't, don't judge yourself unfairly. Just aim to be healthy.

Take care :-)

Do you live so far in the country you can't ride a bus? Or ride a bike. or hitch a ride. Of course you can. Then get a job and go on with your life. Save enough money to get a used car, then get back in college. the weight will come off as you become active.

You can lay around being the victim OR you can get back up and take control of your life. The choice is yours.

no your life has only just begun, welcome to the real world, could be a lot worse, could be one of those people who dont even have the choice of eating food let alone junk food...

Work out! Buy pretty clothes! Do your hair and makeup! Get a boyfriend! You're life cannot!!! be over at 19

doo what katie said! lifes not done..this is just the begining! love life! be happy! :D

Hey girl, you're fine. I'm 19 too, I live with my parents. I don't get out much because I only have one friend, my boyfriend lives out of state until the end of the year so i'm just kind of by myself most of the time. I always feel like my life isn't going somewhere. I'm going to school but I still feel like a looser. I know I'm not though & I know my life is going somewhere. Time goes by quick, but you're still young. Living with your parents at this age isn't a bad thing. A few years down the road you're gonna wish you still lived with mom &/or dad. I want my own place but I'm enjoying living with my parents because they keep it good for me. You're just in a jam, life isn't always smooth. All the people who you think have it so good, they've all been through hardship too. The economy isn't helping, but as soon as you can get a new car or ride situation figured out go back to school. As long as you really go back to school you'll be okay. It might seem useless now, but what choice do you have? You can't go to school or work because you have no way of getting there. You'll figure out what you need to do, it'll come. Keep up with your hygiene though, take care of your appearance, if you feel good about yourself you'll start to feel better about who you are & your life. Don't get depressed, life can be really harsh sometimes but no one knows where we go when it's all over so enjoy knowing that you're alive. Someone always has it worse than you. Keep your head up, you're not alone.

Well, yeah try and eat more healthy and exercise and you will start to feel better.
Oh and drink water sound wierd but it helps me.
I know its boring staying in all the time but try and plan more things to do.
Go out with friends and just do things you wanna do.
As for the car well just save up i guess.
Try and think possitive and keep thinking like that.
I no it sounds cheesy but it does help!!
I really hope this helps you and just so you know you life really isn't over its just starting so don't worry so much it harder than it sounds i no!!
XxXx

this may sound really crap but when i was depressed, i never wanted to leave the house or do anything.. i gained weight cause i just slobbed round the house all day. but then my dad said he was taking up jogging so i decided to join him.
it makes you feel so motivated to get up and just go! it also takes your mind off things, gives you space you need to think, helps loose weight and tone up, and if your ever angry or anything, going for a jog makes you feel so much better!
its hard to find the motivation to get up and go the first few times, but once you get into a routine then you find that you look forward to going! setting yourself a target helps build motivation as well. when i first took it up, i put myself down for the 10k race which i completed in an hour :) and before i couldn't even run up the stairs!
as for pigging out... don't worry about it! everyone is aloud to treat themselves sometimes ;) and if you go jogging then you'll be burning off the excess calories. alternatively, you could try cycling? thats just as good, and has the same benefits as jogging, only with cycling you get a very nice toned bum ;) maybe you could cycle to work or class?
hope you feel better soon! and don't be cynical about this, i was at first! but it really does make you feel better :) xx
