Whats gonna happen when i see a doctor?!

Question: Whats gonna happen when i see a doctor?
well i cut again and told my mom and she said we are going to see a doctor on monday, it wouldnt be the first time that i saw a doctor for cutting, but last time didnt go well (the doctor kinda overreacted and suggested that my mom take me to the ER if i said that i wanted to cut). im getting professional help and im on 20 mg celexa, which kinda helps, but im still struggling, which is why i cut again - so i guess i probably need my dosage increased and idk if its gonna be the same doctor as last time.

I'd suggest asking your mom if you can start seeing a therapist (if you're not already). Building a relationship with a therapist with whom you meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis can be very helpful, especially when paired with the correct medication. When you talk to your doctor, tell him or her that your medication is helping, but not enough. Even if it is not the same doctor, they will be able to view your records from previous doctor visits and continue to try to address the problem.

A therapist (particularly a psychiatrist, as they are able to prescribe medications to compliment your therapy if needed) is probably the best route, as they are trained in helping people like you with issues similar to yours. The goal of any health professional is to help you get better, so at least try to take a little comfort in that when you visit your doctor!

Are you getting counseling too? Antidepressants are not nearly as effective as people think. They may actually be acting thru placebo effect-google kirsch antidepressants
