Am I depressed????????????????!

Question: Am I depressed????????????????
There are days where I will retreat to my room and feel down, usually a good scream and cry will help. There have been times in the past where I have actually wanted to cut myself(I didn't and looking back I feel ashamed) and wanted to die.

Answers:

Dude. You remind me of myself last january. I actually tried cutting myself with my own nails (too much of a coward to get a knife), but thankfully my skin was thick enough that it didn't break.

I'm much better now, though. And I think you can be, too. All it takes is a much more positive outlook on life. Remind yourself that you're strong, and that wishing that you'd die is cowardly and the polar opposite of everything you want to do in life. You want to be happy, be loved, and have a good life, don't you? Everyone deserves a good life.

I also reccomend listening to Bones Shatter by Hedley. It's the song I listened to for a few hours on the worst day. It got me through it. It may not work for you, but... well, I have a pretty deep connection with it now. I'm grateful. Most people don't get what the song's about, but I figure that it's telling you that life's awesome so long as you'll let it be, and that you've gotta make yourself strong enough not to let anyone tear you down.

My own life.

Being depressed is only a state of mind a defense mechanism by your body telling you that something is wrong being depressed doesn't happen because of circumstances it happens because your body is telling you that you need exercise usually the reason we get depressed is because with out exercise our bodies hold in toxins from the food we eat and not being released it keeps pressure inside of us leading to depression.

You sound like 40 to 50% of the folks out there as things are tough both emotionally and work wise.

BUT YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE COMMON SENSE.

Just keep you chin up and I really feel you'll be o.k.

No. You're not. You're extremely happy and confident.

yes

If you wanted to die ,the following article may help you.

SUICIDE
Our hearts go out to those who have thoughts of ending their own lives through suicide. If that is you right now, it may speak of many emotions, such as feelings of hopelessness and despair. You may feel like you are in the deepest pit, and you doubt there is any hope of things getting better. No one seems to care or understand where you are coming from. Life just is not worth living...or is it?

If you will take a few moments to consider letting God truly be God in your life right now, He will prove how big He really is, “for nothing is impossible with God” (Bible). Perhaps scars from past hurts have resulted in an overwhelming sense of rejection or abandonment. That may lead to self-pity, anger, bitterness, vengeful thoughts, or unhealthy fears that have caused problems in some of your most important relationships.

Why suicide? Friend, no matter how bad things are in your life, there is a God of love who is waiting for you to let Him guide you through your tunnel of despair and out into His marvelous light. He is your sure hope. His name is Jesus. Jesus Christ endured all this so that you might have all your sins forgiven. Whatever weight of guilt you carry, know that He will forgive you if you humbly receive Him as your Savior. “...Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you...” (Psalm 50:15). Nothing you have ever done is too bad for Jesus to forgive.
Friend, God stands ready to repair what is “broken,” namely, the life you have now, the life you want to end by suicide. Come to Jesus, and let Him restore your joy and usefulness as you trust Him to begin a new work in your life. He promises to restore the joy you have lost and give you a new spirit to sustain you. If you desire to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, speak these words in your heart to God: “God, I need you in my life. Please forgive me for all that I have done. I place my faith in Jesus Christ and believe that He is my Savior. Please cleanse me, heal me, and restore my joy in life. Thank You for Your love for me and for Jesus' death on my behalf.” www.spintruth.com Contact for further help: interact24@yahoo.
