Question: How do i stop anxiety attacks?
ok so i been getting anxiety attacks for over a week now there getting much worse then they have been and i been going councelloring and that i get really stressed quite easily im trying to think what triggers them but i still have no clue you you got ant ideas on how i can stop them from happening thanks you (:

hi i suffered really badly from these and still do occasionally. i basically felt like i suddenly really needed to get out of whatever situation i was in, i felt sick and couldn't talk to anyone. I have avoided hot crowded places for a few years now but i think the real issue here is control.

Basically it's about realising that you have control over your body. You can choose exactly where you go and who you see. If you are in a situation and need to get out, then get out. Just that sense of control over where you go will make you feel better. People might think you are acting a little strangely, but if they are your friends then they will understand if you explain it to them.

Also if you are feeling the anxiety beginning to rise, try to focus on something that calms you. something funny or silly often helps. try to make light of the situation.

If you are stressing out a lot, then try these things. Exercise everyday for at least an hour, stretch, take a nap if you can, talk to a friend, family member or someone you trust, eat good and eat right, stay hydrated really well, drink plenty of water (but not all at the same time), try meditation, take deep breaths, do something you enjoy, try some herbal teas, there's plenty of things to do when you are stressed, for more just search on the internet, type in ways to fight stress or ways to get rid of stress. You're okay and everything will be okay. I have an anxiety disorder and I get anxiety attacks sometimes too. There are also medications for anxiety if none of these above work for you and medication can help too. You are not alone at all, there are millions of people who have anxiety disorders and panic attack disorders, some have worse anxiety then you and me. If you are religious then pray and talk to God. Is there an event causing it? If so, this too shall pass. If this is ongoing you may have generalized anxiety disorder. Sudden changes are the most common cause, but unknown physiological events can lead to attacks. If you smoke or drink caffeine, quit it as soon as possible Try physical exercise, meditation, etc. Medicinal remedies include melatonin, several herbs, marijuana (in limited cases), and if all else fails see your psychiatrist for a xanax, klonopin, or ativan prescription.



dig a tunnel surrounding your sub-conscious mind and identify the elements that initiated the unpleasant emotions. stop negative thinking and exercise and get sleep.

You could have you counselor contact your primary doctor to request that he prescribe you .25 Loazapam which are the generic brand for Clorazaspam, they ae a mild sedative that stops the attack in around 10 minutes. Zanax will also do the job, but they are more addictive then Loazapam.
