what can a regular doctor do when dealing with a patient that cuts themselves?!
Question: What can a regular doctor do when dealing with a patient that cuts themselves?
Answers:
Oh yes. When I was a teen (eons ago) they did that first thing. It happened to a girl I went to school with. If they think you're a danger to yourself they will prevent you from hurting yourself. That may mean having you committed and putting you in restraints.
A "regular" doctor, who is worth going to see, would refer you to a psychiatrist for "cutting". Generally a patient would not be hospitalized for this condition as there is little (if anything) that the hospital staff can do, other than monitor you. Treatment for this type of disorder constitutes medication and very specific psychotherapy.
