Is it possible that seroquel caused me to gain 4 pounds in 2 weeks?!
Question: Is it possible that seroquel caused me to gain 4 pounds in 2 weeks?
I was put on only 50mg at night, which is supposed to help me with my anxiety and help me to cut down on my benzos. Well it didn't do that, I even took it during the daytime trying to replace my klonopin and it just made me feel horrobile. I was anticipating an increased appetite, and while i was slightly more hungry I didn't eat more than usual and infact, I think I increased my excercise. But I gained 4 pounds! So my question is, can seroquel cause weight gain through changes in metabolism, increased water weight gain, etc.?
Answers:
Yes. Seroquel can change metabolism. Seroquel is associated with a lot of weight gain and even diabetes.
Seroquel is one of the medications that can cause a significant weight gain. We are all different and what works well for us is different. Talk to your physician about possibly trying a different antidepressant to help your anxiety. Effexor and Paxil are often used to help anxiety. Don't give up and you'll find the right medication for your needs.
