Mariana,

If your mom does not want to help herself, you are going to be banging your head into a wall. When you add alcohol to any problem, that problem becomes worse.

I don't know your faith, but I know there is a lot of pain in what you write.

Keep the love for both of them. They need it. And seeking a clergy member or priest to talk to your mom might help. Tell the clergy your story and I am sure they will work hard for your family.

My prayers are with you.

Write to your mum, tell her how much you love her, and how much her love and care has helped you, and how worried you are about how she's coping. Tell her how much you want her to be part of your life now and in the future mileposts of your life. Ask her to get help to ensure she's there to help and support you in the future, beg her not to let her past ruin her future.

This may be the emotional kick your mum needs to get herself help.

It depends how old you are.
Try looking up involuntary rehabilitation. Maybe stage an intervention.
Perhaps you can recruit your dad's help. It may be awkward but if it affects you it affects him too.
Call your grandparents. They might be able to talk some sense into her.
If she resists all your attempts to help her, you will have to tell her that if she doesn't want to get better you won't visit her anymore. I know that's the last thing you want but sometimes it takes drastic measures to make people realize that you're serious and that there is a problem.
