Weight Issues. BDD? Help?!

Question: Weight Issues. BDD? Help?
I have lost 3 stone up to date, the silly way i know..but starving, purging, using diuretics no longer work and have got myself up to 10 stone 3 pounds for my 5'7 frame. anyway while i was dieting and lost alot of weight i still feel and look the same as i did even though im 3 stone lighter?? i take it to heart when people say im thin and belive they are lying, i really do!! could this be a symptom for BDD?. i am now in self recovery even though im still overweight i have an eating disorder not diagnosed my little secret!, weight is always on my mind i am constantly looking at my body in the mirror & shop windows.. someone takes a photo i ask to look but my focus is on my body nothing else.. day & night constantly feeling my flabby stomach.. il go through days of not eating knowing it wont make me lose but makes me feel better about myself. its horrible i hate living like this. anybody know if this is BDD? and ways i can self help? im confused and belive everybody has imperfections but i cant remember ever having to worry about them this much. thanks x

Answers:

This sounds more like anorexia than BDD to be honest, please sweetie, do not keep it a secret, you need some help and support.

P.S - If you ever need any questions answered, you can contact me any time, as for the self help thing, i've seen 4 different therapists and been on 2 sets of medication, sometimes the battle is too much to be fought alone. Anorexia, as well as BDD, or depression, is an attitude, rather than how much you weigh, please don't think just cause you;re not 4 stone, you can't be anorexic, you can. I hope you're okay x

Psychology student, BDD sufferer.

We cannot diagnose you, but what you say is worrying.

Please see your GP or your primary care physician. They will get you the help you need and deserve.

If you do not seek help, your situation will get worse - so please do.

Take care.
