Can a man get schizophrenia at 52?!

Question: Can a man get schizophrenia at 52?
I realize auditory hallucinations can come from various sources, plus schizo. is typically brought on much, much earlier, but i've heard of late-onset starting as late as 45. That's why I was wondering about older than that.

Answers:

It is VERY uncommon to have an onset of schizophrenia as late as 52. I am a nurse with a lot of experience. Is it only auditory hallucinations? Although is isn't very prevalent, sometimes early dementia, or Alzheimer's can have the same effect. 52 is somewhat young for that, but it is more likely than schizophrenia

Not very likely. Much more likely that it is something caused by a drug or accident or even a tumor in the brain.

Anyone can get schizophrenia but i usually starts in early adulthood or adolescence

you can get it at any age

many talk to themselves and hear voices
usually its just your brain talking to itself
