Can a thrill become addictive?!

Question: Can a thrill become addictive?
From sky diving to roller coaster rides and other things that are exciting can get your adrenalin in your blood stream going, but can those activities become addictive like drugs if you do them everyday? Are thrill seekers an example of thrill addiction?

Answers:

First of all, I've never heard of "thrill" "addiction", but I do believe it exsist and is a real mental health issues in today's society. After reading your question, two different scenarios came to mind. I believe every human being has an "addictive personality trait/gene" but not everyone engages it so it remains dormant. Those individuals that do engage it can easily become "addicted" to just about anything that brings them pleasure. Exs: alcohol and/or drugs, food, sex, gambling, shopping, playing video games and so on. When you mentioned "thrill addiction" it made me think of how many different types of "addictions" actually exsist. It never before occurred to me that there were so many different types of "addiction"! So, your question was "can a "thrill" become "addictive"?" I do think a "thrill" can become "addictive". The anxiety, adrenaline rush and anticipation of the "thrill" overcomes them so they seek out activities that will produce them a "thrill". That was a very good question, glad you asked it. Have a good day! :-)

Great habits to have! This keeps you active, healthy, social, and really experiencing life. Congratulations. Some people are bored and watch tv or get boozed up or dope up to try to alleviate their boredom. Keep doing what you are doing!!! No addictive, just clean healthy fun, as there are not negative consequences like a true addiction to smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc.

You feel alive when you do those things. Well, I've done crazy things in my life, I'm surprised I'm alive today. This is an addiction, its a horrible one. But I feel so alive when I do these things

Yes, people who do this are called adrenaline junkies.
