I feel so scared of prison cells. Help!!?!

Question: I feel so scared of prison cells. Help!!?
We just saw a video in class about solitary confinement in prison cells. I got scared, I couldn't move in class. The fact the criminals used violence against the prison guards to release their frustration was even scary. his is so because their sentence increased.

I believe that that's not the right way to deal with these issues. Prisoners need to be counseled and understood. After all, they are human beings. I feel that by locking them up in those 8x10 boxes, they will become more impulsive and affected. It's not the best way out. They are people who feel left out and rejected by the society. We are social beings and we need people to interact with, we need love and warmth in our lives.

Watching that video seized my mind, and I feel so scared right now. I feel that maybe I might unconsciously hit someone, and may be never pardoned for the abuse which happened unconscious.

I feel so scared now , because there is no hope for good.

If there is nothing that can be done then maybe think about what can be done instead and do that. Or not. The choice is yours of course. Not everything in this life is solvable.

Also I thought i should add they do not "feel left out and rejected by society". Most if not all WANT to be there. Everything is free for them why wouldnt they want to be there? They are not you and I. They are people who would kill for any and no reason. They do not care who or why. You try talking and caring for them and fall into that trap you just become another duck who will end up in prison with them.

The prisoners get access to free counseling, healthcare including medications, recreation, food, sodas, candy and snacks, television, and even get paid a dollar an hour when they do work. What more could we give them? Its not supposed to be paradise, they are paying for their crimes. Yes they attack officers becuase they have nothing better to do and want to look tough in front of everyone else. Its all the same sh*t inside there. What they dont understand is that is our job. Were not there to purposely make them mad. We dont treat them like animals and not once had I ever seen a guard hit an inmate, its always the other way around. So you tell me what more we could possibly do for them besides letting the door open to leave. We do as much as we can.

Worked at a jail and prison in Tx as an Officer.

My suggestion to you is to think about 'why' these people are in solitaire confinement. Many of them murdered innocent people, people whose families will never see them again. Some were drunk drivers who killed innocent children who may have been on their way to church or a ball game. Some mutilated bodies and laughed when the families had to see what was left of their loved one. These prisoners chose to do such things, such horrible acts of cruelty!

Those kinds of people are sub-human and they don't deserve to live in as good of conditions as they do. Don't feel sorry for them, instead use that energy to feel for the families of the victims. The innocent victims!
