Social Anxiety gone since I quit smoking weed?!

Question: Social Anxiety gone since I quit smoking weed?
Alright so I smoked weed for approximately 4 years. Around the 2nd year I developed extremely bad social anxiety to the point were I avoided social situations all together.

1 month ago today I had to quit because I got caught by my parents (I'm 17) and since I've quit I feel completely fine. Actually i feel better than fine. I can talk to anyone without feeling nervous or anxious to get out of the social situation. I've talked to people this past month that I never thought I would have a month ago.

So my question is: Was it the weed that caused my bad anxiety? Or did it just stop on its own?

Please no weed fanboy comments like "herp derp weed fixes everything." It obviously affects people differently.

Answers:

It can make many people paranoid. You were probably one of those people. You're right though...it does affect people differently. Sounds like you are better off without it.

This isn't really an answer to your question, I just find this very interesting.
I've been smoking pot daily for the past 4 years, and I currently have very bad social anxiety. I avoid all social situations if possible.

Maybe I should quit too? I miss having friends!

honestly not gonna like but it was opposite for me. when i was baked in highschool it makes my more friendly with people.maybe more quiet. sometimes i want to hide from everyone when im baked. like just sit alone and do nothing. but thats when im super baked. but being high sucks if your the only one thats high. when other people are high with you it makes you want to talk alot.

It's the weed. A lot of people on weed experience paranoia or anxiety focused around people. If it was true social anxiety you would still have the disorder to some degree.

It is not known as a withdrawel symptom, no.

a few teenagers have this symptom from puberty, it'll take a few months to go away if not sooner

My god, I began smoking since I was 16 and I've been trying to stop for quite some time too. The craving was too much, especially with drinking, I had tried a lot products & a few failed new year resolution. I'm just too happy that I'm finally weaned, great for me & better for my boys. All I needed to do was to ease myself out of smoking, I found these vapor cigs allow me to do precisely this. I made up my mind to lower my intake everyday. I've been completely weaned for 3 months now. You need to check these out here for info on how begin: firsteciginforesources.tk

Best of luck to you, stay focus and stay on the path.
