I've been told that i might have an eating disorder, but i'm not too sure..?!

Question:

I've been told that i might have an eating disorder, but i'm not too sure..?

i weigh myself 3-4 times per day, and would feel lost if i didn't constantly know my weight.
my BMI is 18.5, which means i'm classified as normal.
as far as food goes, i have a low-calorie dinner, and sometimes i might have a cup of soup for lunch, but i prefer to go without.
i can't stand eating, i think it's really pointless, and i get embarrassed about it easily.
i wear a pedometer, count caloried obsessively, and try to walk as much as i can.
i can't stand looking at myself in mirrors, because it upsets me to see what i look like. i often end up avoiding them or covering them up with stuff in my house.
what do you think i should do ?

FOR ALL THE IDIOTS ON HERE! IT IS NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK! FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER SUFFERED FROM AN EATING DISORDER IT IS EASY TO SAY "JUST EAT" BECAUSE YOU FUCKIN LOVE FOOD YOU FAT ASSES! BUT FOR SOMEONE WITH AN EATING DISORDER ITS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT... ITS LIKE IF SOMEONE TOLD YOU TO SUDDENLY STOP EATING!

wow you sound exactly how i use to...

best thing you can do for yourself is stop weighing yourself... i know its fuckin hard not knowinh you #... wondering if your 108.7lbs or 109.1lbs... (or whatever your weight) and no im not kidding because i remember those days... i remember weighing myself up to 10 times a day to make sure i hadnt put on weight from drinking a glass of water...
and as for your BMI, 18.5 is the lowest you can be and still be considered normal... are you disgusted that your still considered normal? if you are right there I can tell you that you have an eating disorder...
as for low calories, if your eating more than 300cal a day your ahead of where i use to be... and trust me, you dont wanna start eating less than you already do... so what you need to start doing is havng a cup of soup every day at lunch... and slowly make your dinners bigger...
I completely agree with you on your outlook on eating... but its a fact of life, we have to eat...
theres nothing wrong with counting calories obsessively... i spent many years doing that... but if you cant count your calories and be okay with eating 1000calories a day and not always burning off that many, than you shouldnt be counting your calories... and by the way you should be eating more than 1000cal a day... lol
i know what your saying bout mirrors... maybe its best you dont look at yourself... cuz the thing bout anorexia that makes it really ugly is that you see yourself as fat regardless of how skinny you are... and you will always be fat when you look at yourself... it goes along with the disease... and you have to realize you dont look how you see yourself... until you realize that you cant recover and its still hard...

what i think you should do... it depends... you prolly arent a strong enough person to help yourself... so i'd suggest professional help... but you obviously know whoever told you that you have an eating disorder is right or you wouldnt have asked the question... either that or nobody actually told you and you know it on your own and just want reassurance...
