Answers:

You are obsessing about it. Here is a way to fix that. Get a piece of paper and a pen and write down what you did.

Then write down your feelings about it. Put a lot of feelings about what you did down on paper, ie, sad, humiliated, guilty, mad, frustrated, etc. Take time to add to it as you come up with another feeling.

Then on another piece of paper, write down all the things you could do to correct it. Even write down improbable things, like beating yourself up. Write down as many as you can think of, twenty or so.

This exercise helps to get your feelings out of your emotions, where they do no good except roll around and around, and gets them into your head so you can think about what you can do to resolve the emotions.

For your ending exercise, cross out the things you definitely wouldn't find helpful, like beating yourself up with a whip.

The things you didn't cross out are the things you know will help. Then figure out how to do them. If it's talking to a person you hurt, rehearse your talk in advance.

Above all, you are human. If you can't possibly fix it, then learn to forgive yourself. Good luck!
