Answers:

I know what you mean by the word diet.. as in the generic term for what we eat and not slimming. You are quite right that food can impact on our mental well being and it's good that you recognise that as not many people do.

I am someone who has suffered with depression and I found that both exercise a good diet is an all important factor in keeping it under control. However, you have a problem and you must take your meds as prescribed by your GP these along with your diet and exercise you will soon feel the benefits and on hopefully on the road to recovery.

I would include in my diet fresh fish, food that contains zinc such as nuts and plenty of green leafy vegetables like greens and spinach.

A good source of protein preferably organic if you can manage. I know it is expensive but it does pay to buy organic. Coupled with the exercise and diet You will start feeling better, obviously you will have days where you feel better than others but that is all part and parcel of depression.

I'm sure you will find the counselling will help especially cognative therapy as it helps us to understand our own behaviour and what maybe causing the depression. Could yours be belated post natal depression for example were you are feeling stressed and had not been taking care of yourself properly..all of these can cause depression.

Anyway I could go on and on however, I would instead like
to wish you all the best and hope that you will soon be feeling better so that you can enjoy your wee ones and your life to the full.

Take care.

I hope you do not find all of this patronising it is not meant to be.
