I agree with you!!! I was reading people's answers last night to the question "do you spank your kids?" and was blown away! Some answers were down right abusive. I was still thinking about it when I woke up this morning. I come from an abusive home myself and my abuser still defends what she did to me and says well "everyone spanked their kids back then". This just burns me because it was more than just spanking. Slapping a child in the face until she passes out? Was that justifiable? Whipping with dog leashes? Just spanking? Total mental and physical abuse and I have stopped talking to my mother for good because she still abuses people, not physically but mentally. Don't end up like my mother and lose your kids permanently. It does affect them for life. Her kids (4) had no self confidence, had problems relating to others, drug problems, eating disorders, her only son beats his kids and wife, anxiety problems, the list goes on. I just wonder what us kids would have turned out like if we came from a non abusive home? I think we had great potential as we are all very intelligent. Child abuse is a horrible thing and leaves scars for life!! I could write a book. Let me know if you want to contact me, I am not ashamed.
