Why isn't greed recognized and treated as a compulsive disorder?!

Question:

Why isn't greed recognized and treated as a compulsive disorder?

Excessively greedy people exhibit the addictive traits such as:
behavior that is harmful to their health,
behavior that is harmful to family life,
show up at social occasions with the primary intention of feeding their addiction,
behavior that is dishonest in order to satisfy their addiction.

It is also one of the seven deadly sins, which are all compulsive disorders.

Thanks,

Answers:

Because too many people in powerful situations got there because of their greed. The "greed Lobby" is as powerful as the NRA, Tobacco etc. There is no way they are going to let anyone take anything away. best wishes
