Suicide hotline?

If someone is having thoughts of suicide and calls one of the hotlines available, will they call the cops or try sending someone to the house?

First off, I don't appreciate people like Tacit Rainbow and your "advice" in situations like this. I didn't find anything you said to be remotely helpful or humorous.

Thank you to everyone else for your support and answers. It's been quite a while since these thoughts came and I was utterly confused on what brought them up. I understood having thoughts like this when I was younger and suffered from *severe* depression... this was a complete mystery to me as I've been relatively free of depression for just over a year now.

Nope. They are there to listen....not to narc you off like secret shoppers. Are you having thoughts about suicide? Your not alone.....it is common to entertain the thought while your going through bad times. It is horrific and selfish to take your own life....really selfish.
