What are the dangers of xanax?!

Question:

What are the dangers of xanax?

any side effects?
or anything really.

i've read about it on other websites, but i'm still not too sure.

Answers:

There's a serious addiction potential for all the Benzodiazepine drugs (which Xanax is one of). Basically they work on the GABA neurotransmitter in your brain. GABA regulates stuff like anxiety, but it also regulates seizures. Which is why if someone is having a seizure in a hospital, they'll typically give them one of the Benzo drugs, like Xanax or Valium or Ativan.

The problem is if you take any Benzo for a long time, your body stops producing GABA the way it used to, because it knows the drug is going to be there. Take the drug away, and you can start having seizures which can lead to death. Benzo addiction is a very serious thing.
