Which do you think is the better professional to diagnose and treat PMDD?
A Psychiatrist who specializes in mental conditions, or a Gynecologist who specializes in womens conditions?
Answers:
I'm a Registered Nurse and have seen professionals from both areas of speciality diagnose the condition. If one or the other Dr. has already suggested this diagnosis to you, I would feel comfortable with it. If you have to choose which type of Dr. to see about your concerns, I would choose a Gynecologist -- the reason being is because a woman should establish a relationship with a Gynecologist -- see one for regular pelvic exams, etc./ be able to consult at any time (re woman's health issues). ---hope this helps:)
