Question:

Should a teenager that is having trouble sleeping go to a doctor and figure what to do about it?

I am asking because i am having trouble getting to sleep at night. i am thinking that if nothing else works that i should probably consider going to a doctor about my problem.

well there are a few ways to look at it. You have to look at outside things such as when you are eating, if you are consuming too much caffiene, whether or not you are doing enough to physically be tired at night, or if you are in an environment that is good for sleep. If you are not eating late, are tired and have not had too much caffiene....then you do need to try something different. Talk to your parents about your concerns and how long it has been going on...weeks/months. Tell them how it is affecting other parts of your life. Before you go to a doctor try Meletonin, which is a natural sleep aid. If this does not work then go to a doctor to discuss the problem.
