Do you like patients prescribing medicines for serious behavioral disorders?

in mental health category, i have come across some answers by people who suffer from bi-polar disorders, prescribing medicines to people , suffering from severe mental disorders like depression, bi-polar diseases. i feel, only a qualified psychiatrist should prescribe drugs and have an authority to give advise. i also feel that these people without any knowledge and practical experience in mental health sciene , by prescribing drugs and giving advise are causing immense damage to the society. what is your opinion?

anothe, who has lost balance of mind seemed to have not understood my question. how can one say the so called experiences of the people are real? in third world countries like India, drugs are available over the counter.based on the advice of quacks the youth is taking cough drugs to relieve from tension.

i am at a loss to know why some people went berserk, without comprehending my question clearly.i raised this question about patients "prescribing medicines". then what is the necessity of answering the question like " patients do not prescribe drugs".

yahoo answers is not viewed by western countries only. when a question is raised, one should have patience to think about a minute why it is asked.in countries like india, every drug is available over the counter. i denounce the behavior of persons who have no authority to play the role of a doctor and brand others as psychotics, schizophrenics etc.

I think Yahoo answers is just a place to bounce ideas off each other. A place to learn something by someone Else's
experiences.
But yes you are correct, your medicine will not work for me, according to your history, physical makeup and over all health, one should never even suggest what may or may not be wrong with another person.
This is really a melting pot for ideas..the most important one
see your Doctor for a complete blood/chemistry workup, history and tests.
I also work in the medical field and would be sorry amiss to even suggest what might be wrong with someone....thank you
