What should be the normal temperature for inside of a house in South Florida?
My boyfriends grandpa keeps the inside of this house at 80 degree's! I can't sleep, I can't function at all. I am constantly sweating and putting a fan on only makes me have a stuffy nose. This is his house so i'm not going to change the temperature. What is a polite way to go about this? HELP! Is there any way I can get into the temperature thing on the wall and make it look like it's at 80 and really put it at 75 without him knowing?

We usually set our temperature to 78 degrees in the summer which I find quite comfortable. However, old people often need to keep the house warmer. He may also be trying to save money and keeping the house at 80 will help to save on his power bill. Are you and your boyfriend living with him or just visiting? If you are visiting suck it up and move on. If you are living with him you might offer to pay half the power bill, if you do that then you can have it where ever you want.
