What are the best medicine's for social anxiety and depression?!

Question:

What are the best medicine's for social anxiety and depression?

I think I have social anxiety and depression, I have not went to the doctor yet. I have a fear that the doctor won't believe me and he wont help me. I'm nervous to even go talk to him. I feel like I've lost myself over the past five years. I feel like such a dissapointment to my family. But when I tell them things about me like, Im depressed or I'm also extremely insecure about my looks, because my skin is so damaged and messed up, they dont believe me. I've never been outgoing but now I feel like I put people off, and talking to people is a challenge. Especially when I think about how bad my skin looks. The only thing I use to have was being pretty; dressing nice and putting on make-up. Now that my skin looks and feels so bad, I dont even have that anymore. I told my parents about my feelings about my skin and they didnt believe me. now I think no one will believe when I say I am depressed and have social anxiety. Have any of you guys had social anxiety or depression?

Answers:

yes i have both. Paxil has worked wonders for me. Feel a whole lot better than I did. My situation has caused me to be on disability. I have severe panic attacks often and I even hate to leave the house now, so you are not alone. Please go see a doctor or a shrink they can help you. They know when people are lying to them so just go in there and tell the truth and it will be fine. They will start you on meds to see if you show signs of improvement, if not they will try something else. It has taken me awhile to get a combanation that work's for me but everyone is different. If you can try to find a therapist that you can go see every week for the time being. You can set down and talk with them about anything because its not their job to judge you. I may feel funny at first but you become more comfortable and will be able to express yourself more. When you talk to family or friends about how you feel they do not understand because they have not experienced it. You can get some material on the internet for helping family members to understand how you feel. Trust me I hear "just get over it" or "you need to get out more". I just have to say you know I would if I could. I tell them you know I did not pick this for me and if I could get over it don't you think I would. I wish you the best and if you need a shoulder to cry on just email me at debidoo3123@yahoo. I would be happy to talk with you. Good Luck
